Still no idea on tail ring position (Tip or Base) from the guys who check texts for facts, but evidence Wiki is wrong on age rings

Since male cats threw out their first band at the end of their fourth Sphinxian year of life, then added another for each additional year, that made him nine planetary years—or just under forty-seven T-years—old." thus an eight year old scout would have 5 rings minimum.
